We’ve been on our spritz game lately and have been experimenting with fun new ways to make it feel new, so when we had the wild idea of combining our favorite brunch drinks to create a new festive twist on the classic cocktail, we knew we had to try it out. This drink blends the best of a French 75, a mimosa, and an Aperol Spritz, resulting in a tangy, citrusy, and perfectly bubbly concoction. It’s ideal for those, like us, who seek a refreshing alternative to the sugary, sometimes tummy ache-inducing holiday cocktails that are normally served this time of year, and it can be partially prepared ahead of time and easily made in a pitcher for gatherings. Its layers of orange, lemon, rosemary ice, and sparkling bubbles makes it a beautiful and shareable drink, perfect for cozy winter days where everyone can sip together.
Holiday Brunch Spritz Pitcher
(grocery list and full recipe included)
What you’ll need:
8 large rosemary ice cubes
freeze rosemary in these molds
juice freshly squeezed from 3 oranges (about 1 cup)
juice freshly squeezed from 2 lemons (about 1/2 cup)
3/4 cup gin
1/2 cup Aperol
1 cup sparkling water
2 cups prosecco (we recommend Mionetto Prosecco!)
8 orange slices and rosemary sprigs for garnish
Instructions:
prep the pitcher: In a large pitcher, add orange juice, lemon juice, gin and Aperol. Stir to combine, then refrigerate until well chilled, about 30-45 minutes. This part can be made up to 2 days in advance!
layer & finish: Add rosemary ice to 8 wine glasses, then remove pitcher from refrigerator and divide evenly. Divide sparkling water into each glass over base, then top each glass with 1/4 cup of prosecco before garnishing with orange slices and rosemary sprigs.
